City Žamberk hosted big memorial event "They swore an oath for the republic", which was dedicated to the memory of Barium airdrop members and Žamberk's native, general Jozef Knop who was a commander of 2nd battalion of 1st Czechoslovak Independent Brigade in Soviet union.

His scouts entered the land of Czechoslovakia near Dukla pass as first unit on 6th of October 1944
